The Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition invites you to a free self-guided visit to the Hurva Synagogue during the intermediate days of Sukkot.
In the heart of the Jewish Quarter stands Jerusalem’s most magnificent synagogue—the Hurva. The current building, inaugurated in 2010, is a faithful and impressive reconstruction of the magnificent synagogue that stood on the site in the 19th century and was destroyed during the War of Independence.
A visit to the site offers a moving journey through time: from the ancient archaeological remains beneath the surface, through the breathtaking prayer hall built according to original architectural plans found in the Istanbul archives, to a 360-degree panoramic view from the dome balcony—the highest point in the Jewish Quarter—overlooking all of Jerusalem.
The visit is self-guided and does not include a tour guide.
