The festive meal in a sukkah will take place on September 25 at France Square in Jerusalem. The program includes Kiddush, wine, food, songs, and conversation.
Shishi Shabbat Israeli invites you to celebrate Sukkot together—around a large festive table in a sukkah in the heart of Jerusalem.
Sukkot is one of the happiest holidays in the Jewish calendar. For an entire week, familiar walls are replaced by a sukkah, so on the first evening of the holiday we will gather around the table in our hut.
Our sukkah will be on one of Jerusalem’s most beautiful squares—Kikar Paris (France Square), right next to the famous fountain by the lawn.
A truly festive meal awaits us in the sukkah: kiddush, wine, challah, meat, salads, good food, songs, and conversation. We will talk a little about the traditions of Sukkot, remember why Jews move under a roof made of branches every year, and try to create the kind of evening that makes you want to linger at the table a little longer.
And if you have never celebrated Sukkot with us before, this is a great opportunity to get acquainted: the format is suitable both for those who will be in a sukkah for the first time and want to learn about the tradition in a relaxed atmosphere, and for those who have long been familiar with Sukkot—we celebrate together.
