The Trojan War, perhaps the most famous war in Western culture, offers a tapestry of plots centered around the echo of a possible historical memory. The Iliad provides a glimpse into the critical weeks of the war’s final year; however, parallel literary works that survived only in later summaries broaden the picture, leading us to what preceded it and what came after.
