An exhibition in memory of writer Aaron Appelfeld at the Slovak Institute offers a visual interpretation of his stories and difficult experiences.
Author Aaron Applefeld lived through World War II as a child, and in his dozens of books he created a world of pain and sorrow, but above all compassion and endless love. The exhibition “Mecca of Light” gives a visual interpretation of the dream of Shappelfeld Rekem: the forms of childhood from the mountains, the shelter and mystery of the forest, evacuations and oblivion by the sea. War rages within and around them, but Applefield’s words offer solace amid the chaos and ingratitude of that time and today.
Join the opening of the exhibition in memory of Eran Applefeld, featuring illustrators from Israel and Slovakia: Neta Shlem-Sokolovskiy, Ofra Eyal, Yuval Slinger, Dubai Orest Kislova-Sitkova Jana, Kraicova and Jara, Karel Vladimir. Curator: Yuri Peretz-Kelci.
