There are many things 11-year-old Gogo loves: his two best friends, the soccer game at which he excels, and also putting on makeup and dancing—even though some people find it strange. But most of all, Gogo loves his grandmother, with whom he has lived since his mother’s death, after his father started a new family. When his spirited grandmother begins to show signs of forgetfulness and confusion, Gogo’s secure world begins to change. The boy, who has already learned to be exactly who he is even when others raise an eyebrow, must now face the possibility that he will have to find himself a new place in the world. A colorful and moving Brazilian drama about family, friendship, and growing up, screened at the Berlin Festival, featuring a captivating performance by Yuri Gomes as Gogo.
