Concert by the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra featuring music by Corelli, Graun, and Bach.
“Christmas Concert” by the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra brings together festive music by Corelli, Graun, and Bach. David Shemer conducts; the evening’s soloists are French tenor Olivier Coiffet and English recorder player Alma Debreczeni.
At the center of the program is Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata BWV 55 for tenor and orchestra. Also performed will be Carl Heinrich Graun’s cantata “Eyes, Shining Stars,” written for the same ensemble. The instrumental portion will consist of Bach’s Concerto for Recorder and Orchestra and Corelli’s Concerto grosso in G minor, known as the “Christmas Concerto.”
Alma Debreczeni’s participation continues the orchestra’s collaboration with the International Recorder Performers Competition in Tel Aviv: the musician won the 2025 competition.
