Aviel, a religious-nationalist, and Itay, a secular liberal, are paired together for the final navigation exercise of their squad commanders’ course—an exercise after which they will become commanders in the IDF. It quickly becomes clear that the real obstacle is not the physical and mental difficulty, but the differences between them and the stereotypes each represents to the other.
What begins as a struggle between two soldiers from opposite ends of Israeli society gradually becomes a journey of mutual discovery and unity. They learn that each of them is far more than the stereotype the other attributes to him, and that דווקא their differences enable them to grow and face the challenges before them.
“From Point to Point” is a new, suspenseful, and humorous Israeli play, written by two combat commanders in the IDF. It brings to the stage the most Israeli of conflicts, alongside moments of laughter, emotion, and self-discovery—and proves that the only way forward for us as a people is to walk together, from point to point.
