Chaya, a young Israeli dancer, has started a new life in Berlin, complete with a successful career and a secret pregnancy. Her brother, Netzaḥ, and her mother, Vicky, have remained in Petah Tikva. Vicky has refused to speak to her for two years.
One day, Vicky surprises Chaya by arriving in Berlin to carry out the unusual will of Chaya and Netzaḥ’s father and grandfather. The family members soon find themselves swept into a whirlwind that exposes, with plenty of humor and pain, their own past and that of Jews in Germany. Along the way, they draw in a young German ticket inspector and a local museum director at the site of the extermination.
