The local elections are on the horizon, and the powerful, long-serving mayor, Moshe Schwartzman, is worried that no candidate dares to run against him. Without an opponent, there is no campaign—and without a campaign, the donors’ wallets remain closed. Besides, people might start calling him a dictator, while democracy is his guiding light.
So what can be done? To create the appearance of a fair election, they must find a fake candidate—someone “whose own family will be the only ones to vote for her, and even they will hesitate first.” When the cleaner enters the office and starts cleaning, it is clear to everyone that the perfect candidate has been found.
Her name is Ilana. And she is here to stay!
A sharp and moving comedy about a determined woman who does not take kindly to dirt.
The performance includes the sound of an explosion and sirens, as well as flashing lights.
