A two-day hike on the Israel National Trail in eastern Ramon, including a descent from Ramon Crater via the Nakarot, Ma’ak, and Gelad wadis, with overnight camping at the Holit waterhole. The next day, ascent of Mount Yahav and descent to the community of Sapir. 30 km, challenging difficulty.
Israel National Trail, Sections 50+51 – Eastern Ramon Campus (Two Days)
The first day begins at Saharonim Khan, where we finished the previous campus in the Ramon Crater. We descend into Nakarot Stream and finally leave the Ramon Crater via the magnificent Harboret Haririm, from where we can see the pristine Ardon Valley, the ancient Incense Route running through Nakarot Stream below us, and, already in the distance, the Arava. A descent through Ma'ok Stream, followed by Galad Stream—with its incredible walls—will bring us at the end of the day to Gaf Holit, for overnight camping (mats, tents, a campfire, poike, and all the fun).
The next day begins with an ascent of Mount Yehav, after bypassing the mysterious steps that climb it. From there, we descend into Tzvira Stream, before climbing again to the spectacular cracks of Tzvira Stream and Ashboren Stream. We are now truly entering the Arava, winding through Karkashet Stream and exiting via the caldera to a pass that will take us down to the settlement of Sapir, where these two wonderful days will end.
