Two-day hike (26 km) on the Israel National Trail in the Ramon Crater, from the Mitzpe Ramon campus to Mount Saharonim, via Prism Canyon and Ramon Tooth. Start: 2026.
Israel National Trail, Sections 48+49 – Mitzpe Ramon Campus (Two Days)
One of the most beautiful sections of the Israel National Trail. We will begin the day at the Albert Promenade on the cliff overlooking the Ramon Crater, inside the town of Mitzpe Ramon. From there, we will descend gradually into the crater and pass through the Prism Canyon and wonderful sandstone gorges. Continuing along Sections 48+49 of the Israel National Trail, we will reach the impressive acacia tree in the channel of the Ramon Stream and continue through the Taraf Pits to the foot of Ramon Tooth. There, we will slowly climb the impressive granite mountain and enjoy a panoramic view from the heart of the crater. Further along the trail, a steep, scree-covered descent awaits us to the Nekarot Stream. From there, we will continue to the Ammonite Wall, search for amphibious springs in the area, and continue along the Gvanim Stream to Mount Saharonim.
