Hike and water adventure in northern Israel on September 20: the Israel Trail, the Dan and Snir Rivers, an overnight stay by a campfire, and 11 km on the water.
Would you like to spend Yom Kippur in a truly unusual way?
While the country’s familiar rhythm falls silent, we’ll head somewhere where the only sounds are the flowing river, wind in the trees and the crackle of an evening campfire.
Over two days, we’ll enjoy a scenic section of the Israel National Trail, swim in the cool Dan River, spend the night near the Snir River, share dinner around the campfire and embark on an 11-kilometer water journey.
This will be more than just a hike—it will be a real adventure filled with activity, beautiful nature, meaningful socializing and memories that will last a long time.
In the morning, we’ll meet near Kibbutz Dan. This is where our route along one of the most beautiful northern sections of the Israel National Trail begins.
Before setting out, a certified guide will tell us about the history of the area and the famous trail that crosses all of Israel.
Our first treat awaits almost immediately: we’ll swim in the clear, cool waters of the Dan River.
We’ll then continue along scenic trails beside the water, through fields and shady groves, toward the Snir Nature Reserve.
Our overnight campsite is located outside the nature reserve.
In the evening, we’ll set up camp and prepare a large communal dinner. At an authorized site, we’ll light a campfire, listen to the river, get to know one another and share stories beneath the northern sky.
After breakfast, we’ll set out on a major water adventure.
We’ll travel by water from HaGoshrim to Kfar Blum. Each participant may choose either a large inflatable ring or an inflatable mattress for the float.
Before beginning the water route, we’ll hold a safety briefing.
Kayaks do not operate on this day, so the river will be especially quiet and uncrowded.
Ahead lie 11 kilometers downstream, with stops to rest and swim in interesting places.
We’ll finish the journey near a beautiful waterfall on the Jordan River. There, we’ll have a light communal lunch and say goodbye until our next meeting.
The price includes drinking water, communal dinner, breakfast, a light lunch on the second day, life jackets, and a choice of an inflatable ring or mattress for the float.
Alcohol and drugs are prohibited.
Follow safety procedures, obey the leader’s instructions, do not leave trash, respect nature and treat one another with kindness.
The organizers may change the route due to weather conditions, safety requirements or other circumstances.
Registration is open until Thursday.
To join, send the word “Kippur” on WhatsApp.
