ALEKSANDR FILIPPENKO - “Where is the exit? Where is the road?”
Alexander Filippenko’s literary-theatrical program will take place on March 17, 2027, at the Recanati Hall of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Tel Aviv. The artist will present poetry, prose, and personal stories.
A national favorite, a legend of theater and cinema, and a participant in the Cannes Film Festival, the incomparable Alexander Filippenko comes to Israel with his new program, “Where’s the Exit? Where’s the Road?”
An actor of rare stature, a master of grotesque, irony, and dramatic depth, and the creator of a unique one-person theater, Alexander Filippenko has long become a phenomenon in the world of art in his own right. His performances are always more than a play: they are a live conversation with the audience, filled with meaning, freedom, subtle humor, and incredible inner energy.
This evening, Alexander Georgievich will present a special program—not simply a concert or a one-man show, but a personal conversation about literature, theater, and time. Poetry and prose by great authors will intertwine with the actor’s memories, reflections, and stories from his life.
The audience will hear excerpts from “Dead Souls” by Nikolai Gogol; works by Mikhail Zoshchenko, including “The Steamboat” and “Product Quality”; Sergei Dovlatov’s “The Preserve”; Boris Pasternak’s “The Christmas Star”; as well as poems by Semyon Kirsanov, Yuri Levitansky, and Zhenya Berkovich.
A special place in the program will be given to personal stories about filming the two versions of “The Master and Margarita”, and about working with Sergei Yursky, Alexei German, Sergei Loznitsa, and other outstanding directors.
It will be an evening about memory, words, and time that continues to live on in the artist’s sincere storytelling—ironic, wise, and infused with love for art and people.
