Join Jocklina Ballerina and the Cockroach Soccer Team in a funny, captivating, and surprising dance performance—the result of a unique collaboration between author Yanetz Levy (“The Adventures of Uncle Arie,” “When Grandpa Eliyahu Was Little”) and choreographer Inbal Oshman.

Jocklina Ballerina is a supreme dancer. She dreams of dancing onstage with New York’s most famous dance company. But there is a problem: Jocklina is a cockroach, and therefore the company will not accept her. Disappointed, Jocklina returns home. There, in the sewer, an unexpected encounter with the cockroaches’ unsuccessful soccer team is about to change her life.

“Jocklina Ballerina’s Dream Performance and the Soccer Dancers” is a humorous dance performance about the unexpected way dreams come true.

Yanetz Levy is one of Israel’s most beloved children’s authors. His books include the series “The Adventures of Uncle Arie” and “When Grandpa Eliyahu Was Little,” “Miss Drora Is Not a Monster,” “Princess Abigail and the Emotions Factory,” and more. His books have won awards and been translated into more than 10 languages. Levy is also a stage artist, screenwriter, and playwright.

Inbal Oshman, choreographer and dancer, recipient of the 2018 Minister of Culture Award, creates dance works for the stage, cinema, and public spaces. Her works are presented at leading festivals and cultural centers in Israel and around the world, earning critical acclaim and audience appreciation. In many of her works, Inbal collaborates with leading musical ensembles worldwide, including JBO, NYBI, Camerata Geneva, the Kristiansund Opera String Quartet in Norway, the Carmel Quartet, and others. Oshman has been invited to create as a guest artist at prestigious institutions such as Kyoto Art Center, Japan, and the Attakkalari Dance Company in Bangalore, India.
