An adaptation of a story by Yehuda Burla. Jerusalem at the end of the 19th century. Rivka is happily married to Yosef, a revered rabbi, but is unable to conceive. In her distress, she decides to marry her husband to eighteen-year-old Sultana so that she can bear him a child. What begins as an altruistic act of sacrifice plunges Rivka into a maelstrom of grief and jealousy.
