The House Theater: "Fronts"

A documentary work about relationships during a prolonged war by Shahar Berkovitz and Gilad Chen: He—repeatedly sent to reserve duty at the front—Gaza, Lebanon, Gaza again; and she—stays on the home front, with her heart on the line, WhatsApp chats open, half-dry laundry, and a work being written in real time between deployments, shining a spotlight on the one who stays behind to fight for the home.

He is at the front. She is on the home front.

He: Can you scratch my back?
(She: What happened to you? You have a scratch here.
He: It’s nothing.)

She: You’re scratched up. Who scratched you?
