A gripping courtroom drama based on the famous “Scopes Monkey Trial,” held in the United States at the beginning of the twentieth century.
A charged confrontation between science, faith, freedom of thought, and the power of the masses.
At the center of the story is a young teacher who is put on trial after teaching the theory of evolution. The trial becomes a stormy and moving ideological battle.
The play explores what happens when religious faith and freedom of thought collide with the education system—and beyond. Who has the authority to determine the curriculum taught in schools, and what values and knowledge should be passed on to the next generation?
