Sarit Lahiani in the play “Eyes on the Ball” — a creator’s life story emerging from crisis
“Eyes on the Ball”
21.10 | Wednesday | 19:30 | Auditorium
The Amitim Program, in collaboration with Beit Barbour Community Country Club, invites you to the play “Eyes on the Ball” — a new musical-theatrical performance by Sarit Lahiani, a singer, writer, and artist, who brings her complex life story to the stage through personal songs and texts.
This is an exposed, courageous, funny, and heartbreaking journey into the world of a woman fighting for her independence and dignity within the walls of locked wards, in encounters with medications, doctors, relationships, and God.
The performance weaves together music, monologues, and stage imagery, creating a unique language in which the boundaries between reality and imagination, memory and creation, and survival and choice become blurred. On stage, we encounter a woman searching for herself anew and creating out of crisis.
The performance was created במסגרת “Wings Through Art” — an artistic space for artists coping with mental health challenges, with artistic guidance and production by Yair Harari.
The Amitim Program for adults is a nationwide program of the Israel Association of Community Centers and the Ministry of Health, working to integrate people coping with mental health disabilities into the community and to change perceptions regarding mental health. The program operates within the local community center and believes that promoting recovery and integration into the community requires working both with the individual and with their community, because the community has significant power in fostering every person’s sense of support and belonging.
