The play “Yossi & Jagger,” about a secret love story between two officers at a military outpost in Lebanon. Habima Theatre, Tel Aviv.
The late 1990s. A snow-covered outpost on the Lebanese border.
A group of soldiers is trapped in the routine of an ongoing war, while dreaming of love, sex, and intimacy, and yearning for the normal lives of young people their age.
Against the backdrop of a harsh, testosterone-filled masculine atmosphere, a stormy and moving love story unfolds between Yossi and Jagger, two officers forced to keep their love a secret.
Between the pastoral expanses of the snow-covered Hermon and the suffocating bunker at the outpost, the exhausted soldiers struggle for their personal identities and for the right to break free, love, live, and choose.
Recommended for ages 17 and up.
