Lecture on ayahuasca, near-death experiences, and brain research at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv. Dr. Itamar Cohen will examine the effects of psychedelics.
What really happens to our brain under the influence of ayahuasca? Why can the experience feel like a near-death experience? And can a spiritual experience become a therapeutic tool in the modern clinic?
In a fascinating meeting with Dr. Itamar Cohen, we will delve into the rituals of the Shipibo tribe in the Amazon and discover what they can teach us about human consciousness. We will understand what happens in the brain under the influence of ayahuasca, how the experience affects the psyche, and how experiences that were perceived for years as spiritual and mystical are now also becoming the subject of scientific research.
A fascinating journey into the connection between ayahuasca, the brain, and the psyche—and into the way psychedelic research is finding its way into the modern clinic.
Dr. Itamar Cohen holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from UCL and is a member of the British Psychedelic Therapy Association. He specializes in researching the brain and psychological changes that occur after taking psychedelic substances, and in ways to integrate them as a tool for improving traditional mental-health treatment.
