Object performance by and performed by Daniel Engel at Tmuna Theatre, Tel Aviv. A show dealing with memory, war, and the way to understand what happened.
In one of the houses in Jabalia, the commander gathered Daniel’s team around the kitchen table for a briefing. He used objects he found to explain what was happening to the team: a stack of cups (“the tall building”), with a white cup beside it (“the white structure” was also “the destroyed one”), and the “upside-down Milky” (because it was black on top and white on the bottom). Daniel couldn’t concentrate on the briefing and imagined the table turning into a show that would help him understand what had happened to him in the war.
