Synopsis:
In Austria (1938), Maria, a young and lively nun struggling to adhere to convent rules, is sent by the Mother Abbess to be the governess for the seven children of Captain von Trapp, an Austrian military officer, widower, and disciplinarian. Maria quickly transforms their home from one governed by strict rules and discipline into one filled with joy, laughter, and music. She wins the hearts of the children and eventually that of their father, leading to their decision to marry.
