In an estate where years of routine labor and unnoticed devotion reigned, the breath of life suddenly changes: a professor arrives with his young wife, and the familiar world crumbles. What has long remained unsaid bursts forth; the characters confront their own disappointment and for the first time try to voice aloud what they feared so much.
