From the schoolyard to a hospital bed, they are forced each time to confront old and new wounds and examine what is truly needed to heal them.
Gruesome Playground Injuries is a romantic comedy-drama that follows its two protagonists from age 8 to age 38. It combines biting humor with searing honesty, seeking to understand why love hurts so much—and why sometimes it is less frightening to be run over or struck by lightning than to say, “I love you.”
