Against the backdrop of the war shaking the country, a passionate family drama unfolds as a family gathers at a pastoral guesthouse complex in the north. For the first time in a decade, they are together, trying to cling to the illusion of normality and celebrate the youngest daughter’s engagement.
Beneath the polite smiles, a pressure cooker of dark secrets, cold interests, and destructive lies is boiling. When a forbidden romance from the past threatens to be exposed and a bribe is placed on the table, fateful decisions must be made: Should they remain loyal to the family? To the state? To their partners? To themselves—or to morality? And what price will they pay for every decision?
Hillel Mittelpunkt, currently Israel’s leading playwright, crafts in his new play a mesmerizing family thriller that peels back, layer by layer, the complex dilemmas of Israeli society.
