Pianist and composer Katya Tubol in a special performance celebrating the visit to Israel of drummer Ofri Nehemia, who lives in New York. The two will be joined by double bassist Alon Nir.
Tubol, who has an extensive background in classical music and jazz, began playing piano as a child in Russia and continued her studies at the Israeli Conservatory of Music, Rimon School of Music, and The New School in New York.
In the performance, the trio will play her original compositions alongside personal arrangements of standards, inspired by the great jazz pianists. Tubol’s music connects melodic depth and rich harmonies with groove, improvisation, and freedom. The compositions were written with the group’s interplay and each trio member’s unique voice in mind, leaving room for live musical dialogue and a one-of-a-kind experience on stage.
