Adar Yoshea, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist, makes her debut at Shablul, leading an impressive octet featuring some of the finest jazz musicians in Israel. A graduate of the Jazz Institute Program for Excellence in Jazz at Rimon and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Yoshea is a fresh and intriguing voice on the local jazz scene.
Her diverse musical influences and extensive training come together in a personal language that moves along the boundary between jazz and classical music, combining tenderness and sensitivity with sophistication and incisiveness.
Her choice to lead an octet—five wind instruments alongside piano, double bass, and drums—allows Yoshea to unfold a rich, multilayered musical world that moves between the freedom and intimacy of jazz and a broad orchestral approach.
The ensemble will perform original compositions by Yoshea alongside new arrangements of well-known jazz pieces.
