A picturesque series by Natasha Shamfarova, romanticizing the memory of emigration through images of cups found in Haifa. The exhibition is accompanied by poems from twelve contemporary Russian-language poets. The opening will take place on September 2 at 19:00.
N. Safran’s picturesque series “I Wanted to Be Her Cup...” is an attempt to romanticize memories of the first years of emigration through images of objects (in this case, cups found by the artist on the streets of Haifa), fantasy, and recollection. The exhibition is accompanied by poems from twelve contemporary Russian-speaking poets.
Natasha Shamfarova is a painter, illustrator, and ceramicist. Born in Moscow, she has lived in Haifa since 2022; for the six years prior to leaving, she attended the studio of artist Konstantin Sutyagin.
