After Blanche loses both her home and her job, she arrives in search of peace with her younger sister Stella and her husband Stanley. To Blanche’s horror, the couple is crammed into a cramped, dilapidated apartment in an impoverished immigrant neighborhood. In her eyes, Stanley is a crude and cruel man, and their encounter escalates into an open clash where passions boil over and the past bursts forth, threatening to tear her soul apart.
