Three Floors is an adaptation of the bestseller by Israeli author Eshkol Nevo, transformed here into an Italian drama directed by beloved cinematic master Nanni Moretti, who was responsible for My Mother and the masterful The Son’s Room.
The lives of the residents of one building change in a single night, after an accident occurs on the quiet street where the three-story building stands.
From the moment of the accident, their fates become intertwined: a young couple wondering what their little daughter experiences when they are not with her; a young woman returning to an empty home with a newborn baby; and a pair of judges dealing with a son who has done the unimaginable.
They will all have to find a way to cope with the terrible act, its consequences, and their part in the accident…
With the style and sensitivity characteristic of his films, Moretti sketches a portrait of a building that could be located anywhere in the world, and the story of people struggling with the difficulty of being parents, siblings, and neighbors—and finding room for compassion and love....
Director: Nanni Moretti
Cast: Margherita Buy, Riccardo Scamarcio, Alba Rohrwacher, Adriano Giannini, Elena Lietti, Alessandro Sperduti, Nanni Moretti
The film is subtitled in Hebrew.
We look forward to seeing you!
