🎭 Orna Porat Children’s Theater presents: Chocolate Cubes
🎭 A moving and surprising comedy-drama about roots, family, growing up, and the connection between generations.
❗ Please note: This is a drama intended for an adult audience and is not a children’s show.
Yahli, a boy approaching his bar mitzvah, announces to his family that he has decided not to be called up to the Torah. Nothing manages to change his mind—not even his grandmother Tikva, his confidante, who understands very well that fighting with him will not work.
Then a sudden incident shakes the family and reveals to Yahli secrets that had been hidden from him for years.
🍫 With the help of his grandmother Tikva—and in her funny, wise, and witty way—Yahli embarks on a journey following the untold family story: a story that sheds new light on what he thought he knew about his grandfather David, his grandmother Tikva, and the roots from which he grew.
✨ A new stage adaptation of Nava McMell-Atir’s book, about intergenerational connection, identity and Israeliness, and the thread that connects us to our family story—generation after generation, like beads on a necklace.
