“Not Just Chinese to Me: A Journey Lecture into the Characters, Culture, and Stories Behind China”
A single tree (木) becomes a grove (林) when there are two, and a forest (森) when there are three.
A male (子) and a female (女) together create the character for “good” (好).
What makes the Chinese language so unique, and what can it reveal to us about the culture behind it?
In a fascinating lecture, we will take a glimpse into the world of Chinese characters, become acquainted with the fundamentals of the language, and discover how it reflects the history, philosophy, and way of life of one of the world’s oldest cultures.
No prior knowledge is needed—only curiosity.
