Bati, a young Haredi woman and mother of three, lives in Jerusalem according to a carefully structured routine. Her world is suddenly thrown into turmoil when she receives compromising photographs of her beloved husband, Leizer, in the mail and discovers that he is being blackmailed by a local gang.
The revelation shakes the couple’s lives and sends Bati on a journey of awakening, self-discovery, and a search for emotional and feminine freedom.
The play was written based on a screenplay by Mindy Ehrlich, who grew up in Jerusalem’s Haredi community, and which was adapted into an acclaimed, award-winning film directed by Nir Bergman.
The production brings a rare Haredi female voice to the stage and reveals the human complexity behind the walls of silence.
