Alexander Rosenberg’s Pleasant Meetings Club and Ariel Municipal Theater “Matara” present the play “We Are Not Afraid” in Kiryat Gat.
The play “We Are Not Afraid!” or “The Third Jewish World War…” is a vibrant theatrical spectacle. At the intersection of genres and forms of theatrical expression, it addresses the most terrible calamity of our time—Islamic terrorism, which is spreading across our planet like a disease. Naturally, Israeli theater has its own perspective on this issue.
The action begins in one of the European capitals at an anti-Israel demonstration. Among the many participants condemning the actions of the “Israeli military,” someone “silent” stands out. Together with the characters, the audience will travel to Brussels Airport, an American university campus, the apartment of a renowned German journalist of Jewish origin, a Parisian café, and more. But wherever the next episode takes place, the State of Israel remains at the center of attention—as a symbol, and perhaps as hope that this war can be won.
Actors Dana Kucherovskaya, Anastasia Kulieva, Gennady Yusim, and Nikolai Mikitin move effortlessly from clowning to classical theater and then to musical theater. As in most productions by director Alexander Kaplan, the performance incorporates elements of a happening: interaction with the audience plays a significant role, as do multimedia resources.
The performance will take place at the hall at 183 Malkei Israel Street, Kiryat Gat.
