Back to Shotei HaNevu’ah – Avraham Tal
More than a quarter of a century ago, the debut album by “Shotei HaNevu’ah” was released, marking a moment in time. It brought together styles that had never been combined before, along with lyrics that are astonishing even to read today. Caribbean reggae rhythms met lyrics about peace and good neighborly relations here in the Middle East; Arab music accompanied ideas of a renewed Judaism, and everyone who immersed themselves in it still holds a warm and special place for this album.
In this series, we invite the marvelous Avraham Tal, formerly of “Shotei HaNevu’ah,” to center stage for a full performance of this masterpiece album, alongside several of his greatest solo hits.
To complete the celebration, guitarist Ilan Bar-Lev will also join us, connecting in his sound all the styles and flavors that range from Mexico to Jerusalem.
