A documentary film about the life and work of Hannah Arendt, with a discussion moderated by Liat Ben-Habib. In the Edmund J. Safra Lecture Hall.
A documentary shedding light on the life and work of one of the boldest and most influential political thinkers of the 20th century. Hannah Arendt came of age as a Jew in Germany during the period when Hitler rose to power, and was forced to flee to the United States. From her standpoint as a political prisoner, refugee, and survivor, and through her uncompromising insistence on fact-based discourse, Arendt developed groundbreaking insights into human nature, refugee crises, and totalitarianism—insights that continue to resonate powerfully today.
Talk: Prof. Yerahmiel Ritchie Cohen, the Hebrew University
Moderator: Liat Ben-Habib, Yad Vashem
