Pub Quiz: Beer and an Israeli Battle of Wits

Don’t know whom to vote for? Unable to watch any news program? Worried about the fate of democracy? That won’t change tonight! But perhaps your perspective will shift a little. You’re invited to a pub quiz—a group trivia evening featuring a few answers, lots of questions, and plenty of drinking games. The path to first place and the coveted prize is not based on knowledge or strategy; it runs through collaboration, creative thinking, and humor.

The event takes place as part of the “Why Politics Now?” series of events at Beit Avi Chai.

Cringeworthy campaign videos, heated panels that ended before they even began, and spins fired at us on a regular basis—all the signs indicate that Election Day is approaching. But engaging with political ideas can also be inspiring, uplifting, and even enjoyable—just ask Gershom Scholem, Hannah Arendt, Natan Alterman, Amos Oz, and even Madam Rabia herself—some of the figures at the heart of “Why Politics Now?”, a series of cultural events at Beit Avi Chai leading up to democracy’s holiday. Just before we each disappear behind the voting booth curtain, we will gather for festive events in which we’ll delve into what truly interests and concerns us about Israeli politics—without propaganda, without exclamation marks, but with quite a few question marks.
