A live recording of the “Party of Ideas” podcast will take place on October 26, 2026, at 9:00 PM at Beit Avi Chai in Jerusalem. On stage: Micah Goodman and Efrat Shapira Rosenberg.
The successful podcast The Party of Ideas in a special election event! After 2009/2010 seasons in which Dr. Micah Goodman and Efrat Shapira Rosenberg analyzed the ideas behind the major and pressing political issues, they come together for a special event exploring the ideas at stake in the upcoming elections and answering questions from the audience.
The event is open to and recommended for those who are not podcast listeners as well (there are still people like that?!)
The event takes place as part of the “Why Do I Need Politics Now?” series of events at Beit Avi Chai.
Cringeworthy campaign videos, heated panels that ended before they even began, and spins fired at us on a regular basis—all the signs indicate that Election Day is approaching. But engaging with political ideas can also be inspiring, lofty, and even enjoyable—just ask Gershom Scholem, Hannah Arendt, Natan Alterman, Amos Oz, or even Madame Rabia herself—some of the figures at the heart of “Why Do I Need Politics Now?”, a series of cultural events at Beit Avi Chai leading up to democracy’s holiday. Just before we each disperse behind the voting booth curtain, we will gather for festive events in which we will delve into what truly interests and concerns us about Israeli politics—without propaganda, without exclamation marks, but with quite a few question marks.
With: Efrat Shapira Rosenberg, Dr. Micah Goodman, Asaf Inbari, Amichai Chasson, Madame Rabia, Yochi Brandes, Ariel Schnabel, and others.
