The Testament | A conversation with director Amichai Greenberg about the third generation and the burden of memory
Yoel (played by Uri Pepper) is a researcher who dedicates his life to fighting Holocaust deniers. Yoel leads a highly publicized legal battle concerning the massacre of hundreds of Jews, which took place in the fields of a remote village in Austria toward the end of World War II. During his investigation of the case, he is exposed to a confidential testimony that shatters his identity and way of life. As a historian whose commitment to the truth is absolute, Yoel is determined to continue the investigation, even though it leads him down a path of no return.
