A political-humorous show with Gveret Rabi’a and couples from opposite ends of the political spectrum, on October 22, 2026, at Beit Avi Chai in Jerusalem.
Couples from opposite ends of the political spectrum will meet for 5.55 minutes with Madam Rabia to put everything on the table and bring about world peace—or at least a little quiet during family meals.
The event is part of the “Why Do I Need Politics Now?” series of events at Beit Avi Chai.
The cringe-inducing campaign videos, the heated panels that ended before they even began, and the spin fired at us on a daily basis—all the signs indicate that Election Day is approaching. But engaging with political ideas can also be inspiring, spirited, and even enjoyable—just ask Gershom Scholem, Hannah Arendt, Natan Alterman, Amos Oz, and even Madam Rabia herself, one of the protagonists at the heart of “Why Do I Need Politics Now?”, a series of cultural events at Beit Avi Chai leading up to democracy’s holiday. Just before we each disperse behind the voting booth curtain, we will gather for festive events where we will delve into what truly interests and concerns us about Israeli politics—without propaganda, without exclamation marks, but with quite a few question marks.
