Shaked Bar, Mezzo-Soprano
Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra
The fascinating figure of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, became the focal point of many Baroque operas. In our concert, we will meet Cleopatra and her no less famous lover, Emperor Julius Caesar, through excerpts from operas by A. Sartorio, J.A. Hasse, C.H. Graun, and, of course, G.F. Handel. The particularly rich and versatile voice of our soloist, Shaked Bar, will embody and pit these two heroes against each other.
