That is when a truly Jerusalem-like magic takes place in Mahane Yehuda Market. The vendors’ calls fade away, the stall shutters come down, and the graffiti paintings characteristic of Mahane Yehuda’s nightlife are revealed. The location remains the same, but the entire setting changes in an instant.

Special restaurants and trendy bars take the place of the stalls. In the sweets section, a watermelon stall becomes an ice-cream parlor. Calls of “Tomatoes! 4 shekels!” are replaced by cries of “L’chaim!”, “Cheers!”, or “Salut!”

We will set out on a tasting tour among the classics of Mahane Yehuda Market, passing between graffiti-decorated stalls and traditional foods, as well as unique characters and restaurants whose names are famous far and wide. From there, we will continue on a fascinating tour of the Nahlaot neighborhood at night, following in the footsteps of the Banai family. We will embark on a fascinating tour through the alleyways.

What more can be said about this enchanting neighborhood? While wandering through it, it is quite common to encounter an elderly woman pushing a market cart piled high with greens, alongside a group of young students and tourists from the other side of the world; stunning murals and inviting benches offer a place to rest in the picturesque Strawberry Garden. All this can be found in one special place, in a magical Jerusalem atmosphere.

The tour takes place on Thursdays on the advertised dates, from 20:30–23:00.

The guide’s details and the meeting point will be sent to registrants on the morning of the tour.

Parking is recommended at the lot at 88 Agripas Street.

• 3–14 days before the tour: a refund of 50% of the order’s value.
• 0–48 hours before the tour: no refund and no option to change the date.
