The Free People's University / Café Da'at – Memorial Day for the Events of October 7
A day of lectures on leadership, the decisions of October 7, and questions of violence and fraternity, on October 5, 2026, at the National Archaeology Campus in Jerusalem.
This day seeks to connect memory with action, the past with the present, and pain with hope. Through three different yet complementary lectures, we will reflect on leadership in Israel’s wars, the decisions made during the difficult hours of October 7, and the ancient, deeply unsettling human question of violence, brotherhood, and the enemy. This is a day of commemoration, learning, and soul-searching—a day when memory is not merely a look back, but also a responsibility toward the present and future generations. From pain, we seek meaning; from memory, we build responsibility; and from rupture, we aspire to a stronger, more moral, and more deserving society.
