Tour route: The area around Jaffa Road and the Street of the Prophets in Jerusalem
This is a self-guided tour—in other words, a real on-site tour that you take with the help of your mobile phone, at your own time and pace! After purchase, we will open access to the tour for you, and it will be available for 14 days. The entire tour takes place through an interface adapted to your mobile phone, like an app, where you will receive directions, maps, videos, and everything else.
You may come on the tour with anyone you wish, and as many people as you wish. We recommend purchasing one access pass for every 3–4 people; there is no need to purchase a ticket for each person, so that it does not become crowded around the phone or tablet.
On this fascinating tour, we will pass among the first hospitals in Jerusalem outside the Old City walls and visit the districts of Dr. Avraham Ticho, Dr. Mazaraki, Dr. Tawfiq Canaan, Dr. Wallach, and other colorful figures who worked here in Jerusalem. Jews, Arabs, Greeks, Russians, French, Italians, and English.
The tour was prepared by the team of the Regional History of Medicine in the Modern Middle East project in the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the Hebrew University.
