A screening of an opera concert by Mozart will take place on October 3, 2026, at the Jerusalem Cinematheque, as part of the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts. The performance will be held at 8:00 PM.
The Metropolitan Opera’s live broadcast season opens this time with Mozart’s satirical comedy about fickle young love. The “colorful and inventive” staging (“New York Times”), set at Coney Island in the 1950s, places the amusing plot on an amusement-park boardwalk. The two pairs of lovers at the heart of the story find themselves on an exhilarating journey, one twist after another. Soprano Federica Lombardi and mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey sing Fiordiligi and Dorabella, opposite tenor Duke Kim and baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky as Ferrando and Guglielmo. Bass-baritone Gerald Finley returns as the cynical Don Alfonso, alongside soprano Ana María Martínez as the witty maid Despina.
