The “Slihot Tour” night tour of Jerusalem will begin at 21:30 at Beit Ticho and Beit Ha-Rav Kook. It will end at the Kotel before Rosh Hashanah.
✨ Siyur Slihot: Jerusalem at Night on the Eve of Rosh Hashanah
Friends, we are opening a new season of Midrasha Zionit with a special nighttime tour—“Siyur Slihot.”
During these days, familiar streets and buildings take on a special appearance and begin to speak to us on a different—more inward and subtle—wavelength.
We will begin our journey at Rav Kook’s house, where we will also meet his famous neighbors: the Ticho family—the ophthalmologist Avraham Ticho and the artist Anna Ticho—as well as Eliezer Ben-Yehuda.
We will then continue to the central prison from the period of the British Mandate, where Rav Aryeh Levin—the rabbi of the Jewish underground prisoners—will meet us, and from where we will “escape” together with twelve fighters from the Irgun and Lehi.
In the Old City, we will encounter the king of Judea, the greatest Kabbalist of the Middle Ages, an English general, an Austrian emperor, and Ruzhin Hasidim. Along the way, we will be accompanied by the songs of King David and Rabbi Yehuda Ha-Levi.
Finally, exactly at midnight, we will arrive at the Kotel to join tens of thousands of voices reciting the final Slihot before Rosh Hashanah.
