This is an exciting and unique Selichot show performed by a women’s ethnic ensemble. The performance combines beloved piyyutim and melodies with original compositions in original musical arrangements that connect Eastern and Western traditions and incorporate influences from the Andalusian traditions of Morocco and Algeria. The show creates a rich musical journey, connecting a deep-rooted female voice with musical renewal, opening the heart and inviting the audience to moments of contemplation, prayer, hope, and profound inner connection. A musical and spiritual experience that touches tradition and gives it contemporary expression.
Michal Amar—a singer-songwriter, paytנית, and virtuoso percussionist—presents an original concept show: an unprecedented Selichot women’s performance. Michal and the women’s ethnic ensemble offer a glimpse into a journey toward the roots and traditions; the instruments, melodies, and piyyut singing constitute a genuine innovation in the women’s cultural landscape.
