Overnight stay in Jerusalem with a tour of the Old City and a Rosh Hashanah workshop. September 3–4, Koresh 3.
We’re going to Jerusalem for an overnight stay!
There are several weeks a year during the Selichot period when the Old City stays awake late into the night: people head to the synagogues and the Western Wall, and the streets fill with music, voices, and that special festive Jerusalem atmosphere—one worth coming to experience at least once.
Evening — A guided tour of the Old City with Rostik Notkin, following a special Selichot-themed route: Mount Zion, the Jewish Quarter and its famous synagogues, the Broad Wall, Cardo Street, the Four Sephardic Synagogues, and, of course, the Western Wall. About three hours of walking, a dozen landmark sites, and plenty of stories about the people, events, and traditions of Jerusalem.
Night — Relax in the very center of the city at the Post Hostel, just a short walk from the Old City, in comfortable four-bed rooms. From the hostel, it’s literally one minute to Jaffa Road, with its bars, shops, and street musicians! The hostel also has a rooftop where you can hang out or simply admire Jerusalem at night.
Morning — An Israeli breakfast with a view of Jerusalem, several hours to relax in the morning, and, to finish the trip, a visit to the Skizza Gallery, where a festive workshop dedicated to Rosh Hashanah and a short tour of the gallery will be waiting for us.
By Shabbat, we’ll already be back home, fully rested and filled with new impressions after our getaway in the capital!
