A study, photography, and creative workshop for inner and outer reflection in preparation for the New Year. The program includes a guided tour of Aliza Urbach’s photography exhibition and a personal creative activity inspired by it. Led by 2045/2046 Sagie Pulitzer and Dr. Yoel Spitz.
We will ask time to stand still for a moment in a workshop of learning, photography, and creative work. We will try to take apart and reassemble our perspective on the world and on ourselves, at the beginning of the new year and in moments of self-examination. The workshop will include a guided tour of photographer Aliza Urbach’s new exhibition at the Beit Avi Chai Gallery, followed by personal creative work inspired by it.
Led by Shagi Pulitzer, a phototherapist, photography teacher, and workshop facilitator; and Dr. Yoel Spitz, an educator, author, researcher, and lecturer.
Tuesdays | 19–26 Elul | September 1–8 | 19:00–22:00 | At Beit Avi Chai
Tuition: NIS 50 for the series (two sessions)
At the point of transition between one year and the next, a window opens for us through which we can pause and contemplate the reality of our lives and the changes taking shape within us. This year, we will dedicate “Elul Time” to looking inward and outward, and to moving together on the threshold of home—back and forth—between the past and the future, and between taking apart, reassembling, and rebuilding anew.
In the learning and creative workshops of “Elul Time,” we will engage with the study of texts, writing, music, photography, and creative work, as well as breathing and body–mind presence exercises. You are invited to a profound and creative space in which we will gather together the fragments of this period and try to create from them connection, hope, a sense of place, and meaning as we approach the coming new year.
