I Was the Last of My Sins | Time for Forgiveness

Poetry, Confessions, and Only Partial Requests for Forgiveness, part of the “Time of Forgiveness” event series—four events during the month of Elul presented by “Mashiv Haruach” and “Reshut Harabim.”

We will gather for a reading of poetry about all our sins. We will confess our transgressions and crimes—some more serious, some less so—and ask forgiveness for actual and alleged offenses. We will examine the connection between the tradition of confessional poetry and the confession of sin in the recitation of the Selichot, and wonder whether poetry’s role is to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth—without apologizing! Or whether it should enable a person to receive forgiveness from God and from other people.

The event will feature Hebrew poetry and piyyut, along with a lively discussion. You are invited to bring all your sins with you!

Doors open about an hour before the performance begins, and arriving early is recommended. Food and drinks can be ordered from servers before the performance. Seating is around tables and at the bar, and seating arrangements are determined by the venue staff; seating at a table or alone at a table is not guaranteed.

Tickets may be canceled up to 48 hours before the performance, subject to a cancellation fee of NIS 5 per ticket. After that time, cancellations will not be possible.
